Posted on September 19 2017

BOSTON, MA, USA, September 19, 2017
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the popular children's series, Harry Moon, announced they are teaming up to fight pediatric cancers by directing a portion of the book sales to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Thousands of young Harry Moon readers from around the country will be helping to raise funds by purchasing these books.
"Every year, more than 10,000 children in the United States are diagnosed with cancer, news that no family wants to hear,” says Lisa Diller, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Dana-Farber/ Boston Children's Hospital Cancer Center and director of the Perini Family Survivors Center and the David B. Perini, Jr. Quality of Life Clinic for Cancer Survivors at Dana-Farber. "Fortunately, advances in research and care have dramatically increased survival rates for children with cancer, and we are better addressing treatment side-effects to help patients live full, healthy lives."
“When a child is diagnosed with cancer, it releases a hero. The story of Harry Moon is about young heroes who inspire us with their gentleness and kindness. We want to support the important work that Dana-Farber is doing to save children's lives and bring our readers and these young heroes together,” says series author, Mark Andrew Poe.
The Harry Moon series is distributed worldwide by Diamond Comic Distributors. For more information about the Harry Moon Book Club, including resources and information about cancer prevention and screening, please contact Steve Goerth at steve@harrymoon.org
