Through our collaboration with GiGi’s Playhouse, GiGi's Journey will be included in Harry Moon's Kids Read One program into your classroom and reading club.
KIDS READ ONE: Building Awareness Through Stories That Matter
Imagine every third, fourth, fifth, or sixth-grade class in your school reading the same inspiring book—one that not only sparks imagination but also builds empathy and understanding. That’s the idea behind Harry Moon Books’ KIDS READ ONE Program, now featuring our newest release, GiGi’s Journey, created in partnership with GiGi’s Playhouse, the national Down syndrome achievement center.
GiGi’s Journey tells a heartwarming story of friendship, acceptance, and courage, helping young readers understand the beauty of differences and the power of inclusion. It’s the perfect choice for classroom discussions, school-wide reading initiatives, or book clubs that want to make a difference through the stories they share.
And don’t worry about cost—our KIDS READ ONE special offers hardcover copies for just $14.99 each! CLICK HERE to place your classroom carton order. A purchase order option is available at checkout—no payment required at that time. You’ll be contacted after your order to confirm your purchase order information.
You can also email steve@harrymoon.org to place your order directly.
Together, we can help students not just learn to read—but read to understand, include, and celebrate every person’s unique journey.
KIDS READ ONE goes home as well!
Students are encouraged to read the books aloud with family members or friends. Reading specialists agree that the benefits of older students reading to younger students are many. Older students get to model reading fluency and expression. Having conversations about the story increases comprehension. It’s a win-win for everyone, a one-to-one experience that creates avid readers and kids who want to reflect the important values found in each Harry Moon book.
Our Mission
Reading as a community and the shared reading experience has amazing benefits for both the children and the school. Students encourage and challenge each other. They discuss the book together in class and in their free time. When students read new books they learn new things about the world around them. When they read the Harry Moon series, they learn about each other, how to be a better friend, and best of all, how to be a hero.
